With luxury home developer William Lyon Homes in Las Vegas, Nevada, a collaborative detailing partnership was formed to design a modern floating staircase featuring clean steel lines, stainless steel tensioned cable railing, and lightweight cement steps trimmed in 3/4″ wood cover stained in a rich, dark oak.
This sleek and modern staircase along with its floating bridgeway introduces the upperscale look and feel to the entry of these semi-custom homes. This showstopper was detailed in AutoCAD, producing the functional drawings inventorying everything from materials to structural parts.
The sleek and finished look of the staircase, along with the expanse of the bridge way, comes from the stainless steel tensioned cables enhancing the minimalist design. The rich oak stained wood handrails complete the look also created by poured floating pan concrete method. Created in 2014, these custom stairs will maintain their elegant and contemporary look for decades to come.
