Imagine ascending a broad, sweeping staircase tucked inside the glittering corridors of Palazzo Las Vegas. It’s a staircase that feels less like a casual flight of stairs and more like a cinematic prelude to a night of music and drama.
The architectural details of the staircase, built and completed in 2007 at the Jersey Boys Theater in the Palazzo Hotel and Casino, created the facade as a threshold between two dramatic worlds.
The free-floating stairs suspended from a single steel wall were designed, detailed, and fabricated using AutoCAD. Leaving no room for error, this project was built using structural steel and concrete, while the stair treads were topped with a glamorous liquid terrazzo topping.
Angular glass stringers detailed with oversized musical notes add the finishing touches to this high-end showstopping architectural piece, and it is completed by a floating bridgeway connecting the outer casino to the theater’s more intimate lobby on the other side of the support wall.
This sweeping three-story grand staircase takes everyday to the breathtaking in just a few steps. It is more than just an entryway; it’s an architectural cue that signals a shift in mood from casino chaos to theatrical immersion.
